A little known remnant of historic rail preservation in the greater Chicagoland area, is this old steel cupola caboose from the fallen flag railroad Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific.
This former Rock Island caboose, is preserved on display in a city park along the east side of 80th Avenue between 167th and 171 Streets in south suburban Tinley Park Illinois.

Hey Ed! I'm pretty sure they moved this caboose down 80th avenue around 183rd street, near the new Tinley Park Library.
