I took this photo back in early September of 2000.
A northbound train from the former Elgin, oliet & Eastern Railroad, is viewed crossing a private industrial driveway near Route # 53 and Caton Farm Road, in far southwest suburban Cresthill Illinois near Joliet.
At the time of this photo, the E,J & E was using secondhand rebuilt EMD SD 9 roadswitchers, from the now former Duluth, Misabe & Iron Range Railroad from the state of Minnesota.
Both the D,M & I R and the E,J & E, were purchased and merged in to the huge Canadian National Railroad in recent years.
