A maintenance truck from the Illinois Railway Museum's Building andGrounds Department.

I took this photograph during a July 2009 visit to the Illinois Railway Museum, located in the town of Union Illinois. www.irm.org

Although the many displays of vintage railroad equipment at the museum, both operating and on static display get most of the attention from visiting patrons....it's the dedicated volunteers and their support equipment that really make the museum, the pleasant and safe place that it is to visit.

Seen here temporarilly parked on Central Avenue on the museum grounds near the office, is a GMC  utility truck from the museum's maintenance department. With the tools to do the job at hand and the expertise of the hard working and very dedicated maintenance department staff, these individuals do it all from wire maintenance, track maintenance, grounds keeping, plumbing and electrical engineering projects, and many other sometimes not noticed chores done with pride.

A special thank you is long overdue to the support operations staff at the Illinois Railway Museum, for their hard work, dedication and commitment for everything they do behind the scenes.

Thank You IRM staff for a job well done! Your work does not go unoticed here at Eddie's Railfan Page. You make the IRM an absolutely wonderful place to visit anytime.

Thanks.
Eddie K.
