The Archer Avenue Big Store. Chicago Illinois. December 1989.

Hi everyone!

Welcome aboard Eddie's Railfan Page, from the city of Chicago Illinois USA.

Aside from my interests in trains and transportation subjects, I am also an "Avid" photographer as well. Photography has always been a fun hobby for me anytime.

I took this "Random" and now "Historic" photograph in Chicago's Brighton Park neighborhood, way back in December of 1989.

Seen here along the southside of South Archer Avenue, just east of the intersection of South Francisco Avenue, is the Archer Avenue Big Store. This was an old fashioned neighborhood department store, with 1930's era fixtures and lighting, right out of an old Marx Brothers or Three Stooges movie .

This old neighborhood department store from decades past, was sold during the 1990's, and today is a "Zemsky's Department Store."

Thanks.
Eddie K.
