Southbound Norfolk Southern transfer train. Chicago Illinois. October 2006., a photo by Eddie from Chicago on Flickr.
I took this photograph after work one evening, back in October of 2006.
Traffic jams are one thing that definately isn't limited to Chicago's city streets, as the Belt Railway of Chicago often experiences them as well on their north and south trunk line across Chicago.
I spotted this southbound Norfolk Southern transfer train waiting on a hold order on BRC tracks, just south of West Madison Street on the westside of Chicago. With numerous railroad junctions and interchanges enroute to Clearing Yard near Midway Airport, the BRC often experiences numerous and lenghty delays regarding freight train traffic in Chicago.
