Sperry Rail Services International track detection truck. Bedford Park Illinois. March 2013. Anthony C photograph.

Hi everyone!

Welcome aboard Eddie's Railfan Page, from the city of Chicago Illinois USA.

Maintenance equipment are important tools that no railroad can do without. These behind the scenes machines, help to keep the railroad infrastructure operating up to par and safely.

My good friend and fellow Chicago railfan Anthony C, had sent me this photograph a few days ago. Seen here in the Walmart parking lot at approximately West 70th Street and South Cicero Avenue in Bedford Park Illinois, is a modern International track inspection truck from the company known as Speery Rail Services.

Prior to the early 1990's, the Walmart parking lot seen here adjacent to the Belt Railway of Chicago Clearing Yard, was originally the site of Irv's Golf Range, which was a small family operated family amusement site consisting of a golf driving range, a miniature golf course, and an arcade.

Thank you for the photograph Anthony.

Eddie K.
