An early 1970's era Illinois Central Gulf R R switching local crossing the Missisippi River at the Illinois / Iowa state line border.

I took this photograph last night, at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers,H.O Scale Model Railroad Club in Oak Park Illinois.

In a scene right out of the year of 1972 or perhaps 1973, an early 1970's merger era switching local freight train from the former Illinois Central Gulf Railroad, crosses the Missisippi River at the Illinois / Iowa state line border on the club layout.

The locomotive is an older Life Like Proto 2000 Series model of an Illinois Central EMD SW 900 yard switcher diesel electric locomotive, wearing the pre 1967 Illinois Central black and white color scheme with the company's "Green Diamond" corporate logo on the side of the cab.
