Inbound Metra reverse light engine movement. Western Avenue station. Chicago Illinois USA. Late December 2007.

I took this photo from the south or eastbound platform, at the Metra Western Avenue station located near Grand and Western Avenues on Chicago's near northside. Railroads operate in all sorts of weather 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A two unit set of Metra late 1970's era EMD model F-40 PH commuter service diesel locomotives, are seen heading eastbound on the Union Pacific / fprmer Chicago & NorthWestern line to downtown Chicago in a heavy morning snowstorm. The locomotives are traveling in reverse to the Richard B. Ogilvie Transportation Center, formerly NorthWestern Station.
