Belt Railway of Chicago transfer caboose. Clearing Yard. Chicago Illinois USA. May 1987.

I took this photo from the east, or the Chicago side of Clearing Yard in May of 1987. This is an example of the little cabooses that were still in use at the time by the Belt Railway of Chicago. Two examples are known to be preserved today.
One at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union Illinois, and another one in a park in the town of Hobart Indiana.

Hi, Eddie. I've just spent the last hour reading through your blog. Wow.

Hi Wayne Allen Sallee!
Could I call You Wayne?

Thank You for discovering Eddie's Railfan Page. I have been a local
Chicago area amature railfan photographer since approximately the early 1980's. My earliest actual "Railfan" photos started around 1983...although I have a few random snapshots before that time.
I still get out to photograph occasionally, but a lot of My time these days is eaten up. I work 12 or more hours a day as a Paratransit bus operator.

I am glad that You enjoyed My blog.
I am working on putting together a "New and Improved" railfan page.

Thanks for enjoying My photos.
