Westbound Belt Railway of Chicago transfer train approaching the South Kedzie Avenue overpass bridge. Chicago Illinois USA. August 1987.

I took this photo looking east from the South Kedzie Avenue overpass bridge at approximately would be West 75th Street on Chicago's southwest side. This bridge borders the Chicago neighborhoods of Ashburn and wrightwood, and allows the traffic on South Kedzie Avenue to pass over the very busy Belt Railway of Chicago line.

A two unit set of 1970's era EMD Model SW 1500 yard switchers, pull a westbound transfer enroute to Clearing Yard in southwest suburban Bedford Park Illinois near the Chicago Midway Airport. Notice the lead unit still wearing 1976 era American Bicentenial commemorative colors and markings. Many railroads did this in 1976.
