DRS Rail Services locomotive returning from a morning switching local run. Chicago Illinois USA. January 2007.

I took this photo last year in January of 2007 alongside Cermak Road / aka West 22nd Street in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood. This is one of those trains that isn't always easy to photograph around Chicago. It was definately the "Right Time / Right Place" situation to be there with My camera.

A rebuilt 1950's era EMD SW series diesel switcher and crew, have just finished their morning industrial switching chores on a former Burlington Northern industrial branchline, and are now heading eastbound to the DRS Rail Services locomotive storage yard at West Cermak Road and South Canalport Street. After the 1995 merger that created todays BNSF Railway, this industrial line on Chicago's near southside was then sold to DRS Rail Services.
