The former GTW Elsdon Yard site in April of 2007.

Seen here on the north side of west 51st Street, is the former "Yard Office" at the site of the long abandoned Grand Trunk Western Elsdon Yard.
I photographed this structure in 1984, when the old GTW was staging locomotives and cabooses to the immediate left of this photograph.

Elsdon Yard was closed for good in October of 1983, but some small support operations had still taken place here until September of 1986.

This portion of Elsdon Yard, is now a railroad construction materials provision yard. An in house support operation of it's own.
