Signal variety at Brighton Junction. Chicago Illinois USA. Early April 2007.

I took this photo looking north, at Chicago's Brighton Junction. The old fashioned maual "Semaphore" signals to the left, are used to control the train traffic on the north -south lines used by CSX Transportation and the Norfolk Southern railroads respectively. The newer signals to the right control train traffic on the Canadian National east-west line, wich until 1999 -was the Illinois Central Railroad line to St. Louis Missouri. Prior to 1972, this line was the Gulf ,Mobile & Ohio Railroad line. Brighton Junction, located just west of the intersection of Archer and Western avenues, has always been a great place to photograph trains in the city of Chicago Illinois USA.
