Evening switching activity along West 26th Street. The BNSF Railway Clyde Yard. Cicero Illinois USA. May 2007.

I took this photo one evening after work, in May of 2007. The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway's Clyde Yard, is a very busy Chicago rail hub. The activity here is practically non stop 24 Hours a day, seven days a week. Two BNSF EMD roadswitchers are seen under the Laramie Avenue overpass bridge. Notice the lead unit still in predesscor railroad Burlington Northern colors. This was a lovely evening to go train spotting on location with a camera.

During my Santa Fe and IHB days I lived at 2445 S 50th Avenue across from the Town Hall. I sent wife number one to the CB&Q as they were under pressure to hire minorities including women so she was a passenger reservations clerk in Union Station with a pass on the Q for several years.
