Canadian National diesel locomotives idling in Schiller Park Illinois USA. May 2007.

I took this photo just north of West Lawrence Avenue in northwest suburban Schiller Park Illinois. Seen here behind a fence, are a two unit set of Canadian National Railroad EMD SD 40 -2 roadswitchers idling in the terminal area between assignments. Notice the initials I.C
on the cab side. The Canadian National merged and absorbed the Illinois Central Railroad in 1999. The old roadnames and initials from former railroads acquired through mergers, often live on in subsidiary form, although in this case...the former railroads initials.
