The Oak Park Society of Model Engineers H.O Scale Model Railroad Club. Oak Park Illinois USA. May 2011., a photo by Eddie from Chicago on Flickr.
In late February of this year, I became a member of the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers H.O Scale Model Railroad Club.
For many years, I had a small collection of older Athearn equipment that was just taking up storage space at home. While the club's main layout is set up for Digital Command Contro; operation, there is also a smaller 4' x 8' spare layout at the club as well, wich was donated many years ago by a now deceased former club member.
Shortly after joining the club, I donated My older equipment to them. One of the pieces being this Athearn EMD SW 1500 yard switcher locomotive in Frisco markings.
This older Athearn locomotive that had missing handrails since day one, is now enjoying retirement at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers. This locomotive, is operated on the spare 4' x 8' layout for visiting Children and their families.
Thanks.
Eddie K.
