Eddie K alongside a very cold and windy Calumet River on the far southeast side of Chicago. Sunday, March 4th, 2012.

Hi everyone!
Welcome aboard Eddie's Railfan Page, from the city of Chicago Illinois USA.

This past Sunday, I went on a photo outing to the far southeast side of Chicago near Hammond Indiana.

It was a cold and windy 34 degrees Farenheight outside, but that did not stop many local fisherman from enjoying an afternoon along Lake Michigan and the Calumet River.

A huge rock salt hauling Canadian great lakes freighter ship from the former Algoma Central Railroad, passes through the opened East 95th Street drawbridge in the South Chicago neighborhood.

It was cold and windy on this late Winter season afternoon, but it was fun nonetheless going on location with a camera in hand.

As seen from the stern of the ship, a tug boat was required at each end for safe navigation on the Calumet River.

Thanks.
Eddie K.
