A 1980's era 7 UP mural billboard. (Gone.) Chicago Illinois USA. December 1985.

I took this photo way back in December of 1985.

Seen here painted on the side of a brick building, along the east side of South Kedzie Avenue near West 60th Street in Chicago's own Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the southwest side of the city...is a recently painted mid 1980's era advertisement for 7:UP soft drinks.

This style of adverising was quiete common in Chicago many years ago, but is now mostly a thing of the past. There are several old brick buildings ranging from factories to apartment buildings that are spread out through out Chicago's neighborhoods today, with now faded painted on advertising like the example shown here.

It is nice to see how these painted on advertisements looked like when they were brand new on the sides of brick buildings.

Thanks.
Eddie K.
