The Oak Park Society of Model Engineers H.O Scale model railroad club. Oak Park Illinois USA. March 2011.

One of My favorite activities I have come to enjoy, is visiting the Wednsday night operating session at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers,H.O Scale Model Railroad Club in west suburban Oak Park Illinois USA.

Rolling stock and equipment from many of Chicago's now fallen flag railroads of the past, can be seen at any given session here at the club.

This 40 foot boxcar from the former Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad is very special to Me, as I used to see cars like this at the nearby A,T & S,F Corwith Yard when I was attending Chicago's Curie High School from 1977 to 1981.

You never know what particular happy railfan memory from Your past, can roll by on the club layout at any time.

The Oak Park Society of Model Engineers,H.O Scale Model Railroad Club, is located at 255 Augusta Street in west suburban Oak Park Illinois. The group meets in the basement of the Oak Park Public Library's Dole Learning Center building from 7:00 until 9:00 PM.

Thanks.
