The Oak Park Society of Model Engineers H.O Scale Model Railroad Club. Oak Park Illinois USA. Early April 2011.

I took this photo last year, at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers, H.O Scale Model Railroad Club.

It's the late 1960's again in the city of Chicago Illinois...at least in this photo scene anyway.

My Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad freight train, is viewed entering the swing bridge on the club layout.

The locomotive, is an Athearn model of a mid 1960's era EMD GP 35 roadswitcher. My locomotive, is wearing the blue and yellow Santa Fe color scheme that was used from 1960 until 1972. The orange Santa Fe mechanical refrigerator car in tow behind the locomotive, was introduced by the Santa Fe during the 1960's, and was used for transporting perishable food items. These refrigerator cars, were replacing the remaining ice cooled steam era refrigerator cars on the Santa Fe during the 1960's.

This view, shows the typical daily rolling stock I witnessed on the Santa Fe, when I was a kid growing up on the southwest side of Chicago during the 1960's and early 1970's era.
