Seen here heading east on Lake Street, is a red CTA tow truck, or "Wrecker" as they were known for many years.These emergency vechicles have come to the rescue of many a disabled bus. During the electric streetcar days, these trucks were used to tow many disabled trolley cars back to their respective repair barns.
Just as they were going back to streetcar or electric bus days, these large maintenance tow trucks are still "Red"
after all of these years.
