Varied steam railroad operations. The Hesston Steam Museum. Hesston Indiana USA. August 2005.

3 different demonstration train rides can be experienced at the Hesston Steam museum in NW indiana, near the border town of New Buffalo Michigan. The little station to the far left serves the 7 and 1/2 inch guage miniature Live Steam railroad, the middle line with the Green side tank locomotive is the Dual Narrow or Meter guage 2 and 3 ft tracks , and the track to the far right is the 14 Inch guage live steam train ride. The green 0-4-0 side tank steam locomotive, is a small industrial locomotive from Czechloslovakia built in 1940 , while the red open coaches behind it, were originally from the Chicago's very own
Brookfield Zoo. The Brookfield Zoo had a 2 ft narrow guage railroad from 1967 to 1985. The 14 inch guage steam locomotive to the right is a 4-6-4 Hudson Type (Passenger) and operated on the late great Elliot Donnelley's private estate. (Family of R.H Donnelley Publishing Co.)
This is a very nice museum to take Your family to visit in N.W Indianna, approximately
2 hours travel time from Chicago Illinois.
