Interior view of West Towns Bus Company # 776, a 1950 GM transit coach. The Midwest Transit Bus Museum. Cresthill Illinois USA. September 2000.

This is a scene out of My own Childhood growing up in Chicago during the 1960's and 70's.
This is an interior view of a preserved 1950
General Motors transit bus. This bus was purchased secondhand actually from San Diego California during the 1960's, and was used by the West Towns Bus Company in Chicago's western suburbs until 1979. The Chicago Transit Authority was using buses like this until 1972. The CTA ones I rode on had two tone green interiors and dark green soft seats. Notice the individual incadescent interior ceiling lights -tinted standee windows -and soft vinyl seats.
