Southbound Norfolk Southern RR transfer train on BRC trackage. Chicago Illinois USA. October 2006.

Seen here just south of Madison Street on Chicago's westside, is a southbound NS freight train waiting for it's turn to proceed south to Clearing Yard. Approximately 30 or so feet ahead of this train on the same track, is another "Stopped" train waiting for clearance. These are railroad "Bottleneck" traffic jams that could sometimes take several hours to clear up. Many people are just not aware as to how much time professional railroad crews spend
"Waiting" just to get into a terminal destination.
This train is on the Belt Railway of Chicago trackage.
