Amtrak Hiawatha train racing to Chicago Union Station. The Metra Forest Glen depot. Chicago Illinois USA. March 2007.

A southbound Amtrak Hiawatha service train from Milwaukee Wisconsin, has just flew past Me at speed on Chicago's northwest side. I was on the outbound platform of the Metra Forest Glen flag stop depot near north Elston and west Foster Avenues, and seen the rapidly approaching headlights of an inbound Amtrak train from Milwaukee Wisconsin. (one of several daily.)

Seen here on the rear of the speeding train, is an Amtrak General Electric P-42 Genesis Series passenger diesel locomotive in the Acela color scheme. On the other end of the train, is a demotored 1970's vintage EMD F-40PH locomotive that was rebuilt into a baggage car with a control cab. Next stop-Chicago!
