I took this photo at work one late morning in August of 2007. Two car inspectors are seen discussing some safety business in the Metra coach yard at west Roosevelt Road and south Canal Street. An elderly 1950's vintage EMD SW series diesel switching locomotive is used to spot these double deck gallery commuter coaches, on the various servicing tracks at the shop area.This is a behind the scenes look at what happens during the mid day layover at the servicing yard.
These cars have to be in great shape for the upcoming evening rush hour commute.
