The abandoned GTW Elsdon Yard engine servicing facility. September 1986.

This is one of the last photos I had taken, of the abandoned Grand trunk Western Elsdon Yard roundhouse and engine terminal. This complex was closed for good in October of 1983, and sat forelorn until 1987 when it was demolished, and redeveloped into a strip mall. By the time of this early September 1986 photograph, several of the terminals lead tracks had slowly been dismantled. The GTW Elsdon roundhouse, was located at west 49th Street and south Kedzie avenue, in Chicago's Elsdon neighborhood community on the southwest side.

Funny how only certain sections of the track got pulled up in your scene. Maybe it's because the frogs are the most massive and have to most scrap value?

Hi Anthony!
Whats up buddy?
I took this photo around the time I quit hanging out at the old abandoned GTW Elsdon enginehouse .
This is a good behind the scenes photo, and I really should have taken the time to take a few more.
You brought up a very interesting visual observation.

Thank You.
Eddie.
