Chicago bound Amtrak Hiawatha train arriving at the Glenview Metra commuter rail station. Glenview Illinois USA. Late November 2007.

I took this photo one early and very sunny November afternoon, in north suburban Glenview Illinois. An Amtrak Hiawatha service train from Milwaukee wisconsin, is seen slowing down for an early afternoon scheduled stop in Glenview Illinois. The lead unit is a late 1970's era EMD F-40 PH, that had it's internal engine block removed, and was coonverted into a baggage, control cab car, lenghtening it's service life in an inexpensive and practical way. These former locomotives, are generally used on the South or East end of these Chicago to Milwaukee daily corridor trains, and help to speed up terminal operations in Milwaukee Wisconsin.
