Former Norfolk & Western locomotives in the 1971 black with white NW markings. Hayford Junction. Chicago Illinois USA. January 1987.

An eastbound Norfolk Southern freight train has just left Clearing Yard, and is proceeding eastbound toward Hayford Junction and points east over the Belt Railway of Chicago trackage.
Two of the units are seen still wearing the 1971 Norfolk & western black with white NW markings. The Southern Railroad and the Norfolk & Western merged in 1982, and became todays Norfolk Southern Railroad.
