Rising Chicagoland fuel costs at West 47th Street and South Archer Avenue. Chicago Illinois USA. March 2008.

I spotted these two BNSF Railway EMD roadswitchers idling at the top of the hump at the former Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe Corwith Yard, and somehow couldn't resist incorporating the ugly contemporary reality of Chicago's rising motor fuel costs in March of 2008 into the photo.

This Marathon gasoline station, is located just west of the intersection of South Archer Avenue and West 47th Street, in Chicago's Archer Heights neighborhood. During the 1970's, this was a large Amoco station that serviced and washed large over the road semi tractor and trailer trucks.
