This historic color photograph from Chicago's Kiddieland Amusement Park located in Melrose Park Illinois, was E Mailed to me recently by Mr Mark Yurkiw, who has attended some of my recent public speaking appearances.
Seen here in a color photograph from 1957, is the Kiddieland Limited steam train.
Kiddieland Amusement Park in Melrose Park Illinois, was in business for 81 years from 1928 until 2009. The 4-8-4 streamlined steam locomotive shown here, pulled the last Kiddieland trains on closing day, Sunday, September 27th, 2009.
Today this locomotive and a former streamlined 4-6-4 Hudson type also from Kiddieland, can be seen and ridden behind at the Hesston Steam Museum in northwest Indiana near Michigan City. www.hesston.org
