Early 1960's era Akron, Canton & Youngstown Railroad yellow 40 foot box car., a photo by Eddie from Chicago on Flickr.
A colorful regional railroad based in the state of Ohio many years ago, and now long since a fallen flag railroad, was the Akron, Canton & Youngstown Railroad.
Their yellow 40 foot boxcars whith bright bold red graphics, really stood out in an era of plain oxide brown box cars.
I photographed this model, at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers, H.O Scale Model Railroad Club.

Nice to see someone interested in the AC&Y. I am a member of the AC&Y Historical Society and am in the early stages of modeling a portion of the AC&Y in HO. I have many of the yellow box cars in my fleet. And yes, they do stand out amongst the crowd. Sadly, the real AC&Y wasn't real frequent with their repaints so most of the yellow cars (and locos) were very faded. Almost to not yellow any longer.
