I took this photograph way back in July of 1989.
We are looking west along the Belt Railway of Chicago tracks at a location known as Hayford Junction, which is located at West 75th Street and South Central Park Avenue in Chicago's Ashburn neighborhood.
An eastbound Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe transfer train in the background, waits for clearance to depart from the Belt Railway of Chicago's Clearing Yard facility.
At the Grand Trunk Western Railroad crosstrack, is the single story controll tower that stood her and controlled the train traffic prior to 1992. The GTW line was single tracked here earlier in 1989.
Thanks.
