Two flavors of passenger train color schemes from the former Chicago & NorthWestern Railroad.

I took this photograph recently, at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers, H.O Scale Model Railroad Club.

A popular railroad that once had served Chicago and many other points in the midwest, was the former Chicago & NorthWestern Railroad.

For many years prior to the late 1940's, the C & N,W passenger trains had wore a plain and very basic Pulman green color scheme with a black roof on their passenger trains. Eventually, the C & N,W modernized their passenger trains with a bright yellow and green color scheme as seen on the baggage car to the right. This also would become the railroad's future diesel locomotive color scheme, and was also utillized on cabooses as well.
