Eastbound Belt Railway of Chicago transfer train leaving Clearing Yard. Photographed at Hayford Junction. Chicago Illinois. January 1987.

Hi everyone!
Welcome aboard Eddie's Railfan Page, from the city of Chicago Illinois USA.

I took this photograph one overcast winter afternon way back in January of 1987, after a heavy all morning lake effect snowstorm had finally stopped falling in Chicago.

With fresh snowy landscape, an eastbound Belt Railway of Chicago transfer train, aproaches the GTW crosstracks at Hayford Junction in Chicago's Ashburn neighborhood.

That's some grim, winter Chicago railroading, for sure. And it looks like it could have been taken at least 20 years prior, as well.

Gald the guys are keeping warm in the caboose!
