A Q Straint used for securing wheelchairs aboard a paratransit mini bus.

One of the everyday onboard tools I utilize as a paratransit driver, is this unique steel gadget known as a "Q Straint", which is used to secure and tighten wheelchairs to the floor of my company buses.

The device slips on to and "Locks" to the circular metal base viewed to the left of the Q Straint device. The oval shape object, is the release pin for removing the Q Straint from the floor. To the right, you can see the spring loaded safety belt with a metal hook that attatches to the frame or handles on wheelchairs and mobility scooters. The pink lever to the left, is the seat belt release lever, while the knobs on the side are a ratchet tightening mechanism for securement.

Thanks.
Eddie K.
