The former Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Railroad Bridge # 631 in the raised position. Hammond Indiana. Sunday, November 25th, 2012.

I took this photo during a group photo outing to the far southeast side of Chicago and nearby northwest Indiana, back in late November of 2012.

My good friend and fellow Chicago railfan Anthony C, knew about this really "Funky" isolated and somewhat unknown photo location tucked away inside an industrial area of Hammond Indiana.

Seen here up close and in the raised postion, is a single tracked drawbridge over the Little Calumet River, once owned by the former Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Railroad. Today this little bridge, is owned and operated by the succesor railroad Canadian National.
