MTH models of streamlined New York Central Railroad Alco 4-6-4 Hudson type passenger steam locomotives., a photo by Eddie from Chicago on Flickr.
I took this photograph a couple of weeks ago, at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers,H.O Scale Model Railroad Club.
My good buddy and fellow club member Martin, is a big fan of the former New York Central Railroad. His MTH H.O Scale models of the New York Central's famous 1940's era streamlined Alco 4-6-4 Hudson type passenger service steam locomotives, help to recapture the glory of this American railroad, that advertised itself as "The Water Leval Route."
The model to the left, is the 1941 Empire State Express engine, which made it's debut on Sunday, eptember 7th, 1941..only to be upstaged by the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii that morning.
The engine to the right, is the original 1938 Henry Dreyfus designed 20th entury Limited streamlined Hudson locomotive.
Thanks Martin.
