A westbound Union Pacific transfer train with former Missouri Pacific locomotives acquired through merger in 1982, heads toward Hayford Junction. Chicago Illinois. March 1985.

I took this photograph way back in March of 1985.

A westbound Union Pacific Railroad transfer freight train being led by a few former Missouri Pacific Railroad locomotives acquired through merger in 1982, is viewed traveling westbound over the Belt Railway of Chicago, and heading to nearby Hayford Junction where it will wait on a hold order, as a northbound Grand Trunk Western Railroad freight train will soon occupy the crosstracks.

The bridge in the background is South Kedzie Avenue, while the building to the left is the Nabisco cookie factory.
