I found this historic photograph on the internet.

A popular topic that is still spoken about quiete often amongst older Chicago area residents, was the tragic and devastating Friday, April 21st 1967 Tornado that struck southwest suburban Palos Hills and Oak Lawn Illinois.

This Tornado began earlier in the afternoon in the area around Freeport Illinois near Rockford, and blew southeastwardly through Belvidere Illinois and several other towns along the way. This devastating tornado hit Oak Lawn Illinois around 5:30 PM, leaving many fatalities and property damage in it's wake.

The Tornado finally blew out over Lake Michigan not long afterwards.

It was one of several tragic weather events in Chicago history.

Thanks.
