1960's era Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe switching local.

I photographed this digital live sound video this Wednsday night, at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers,H.O Scale Model Railroad Club.

This club is located at 255 Augusta Street in Oak Park Illinois, and operates on Wednsday nights from 7 to 9 PM, in the basenment of the Oak Park Puiblic Library Dole Learning Center building.

A 1960's era switching local from the former Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad...is being led by a Bachman A,T & S,F Railroad Alco S 4 Yard Switcher equipped with DCC and Sound System.

This locomotive is wearing Santa Fe's 1950's era black and silver zebra stripe scheme, wich Santa Fe employed on yard switchers and a few hood unit diesel locomotives from 1950 to 1960.

When a railroad eventually changes their color scheme or image, or even  becomes purchased by another railroad through merger...it could sometimes take several years before the equipment becomes repainted or retired. The Santa Fe still had a good number of locomotives operating in this color scheme at terminals systemwide, through most of the 1960's.
