The Thunderer

I spotted this very impressive musical video on You Tube this morning.

Although I had never served a day in any branch of the United States Military, I have always been a big fan of the musical compositions of the famous American composer John Phillip Sousa. (1854 - 1932)

John Phillip Sousa had an incredible musical talent, and wrote several styles of music including Operettas. However...Spirited Military style marches would turn out to be His strong point musically, and He became known during Victorian era times as "The March King".

Although His all time favorite composition "The Stars and Stripes Forever" has been a long running favorite of Mine, I have really developed an appreciation for the Sousa composition "The Thunderer".

In this video, theatre pipe organist Linda Margetts, performs the John Phillip Sousa composition "The Thunderer. I found this performance to be incredibally talented and original, as this was a piece normally reserved for and played by Marching bands in parades.

Thank You.
Eddie K.
