A 4 unit BNSF Railway light engine movement passing through Hawthorne Junction. Chicago / Cicero Illinois USA. June 2008.
I took this photo one summer afternoon in June of 2008. I was enjoying some on location railfanning activity at Hawthorne Junction, wich is located at the Chicago city limits alongside the border of west suburban Cicero Illinois. This four unit set of BNSF Railway 6 axel EMD roadswitchers, are viewed heading northbound through Hawthorne Junction, traveling over the Belt Railway of Chicago tracks running light.
The locomotives are seen crossing over the Canadian National ex Illinois Central crosstracks, as they are returning to the nearby BNSF Railway Clyde Yard located in Cicero Illinois.
