Hello everyone!
Welcome aboard Eddie's Railfan Page from the city of Chicago Illinois USA.

I spotted this historic steam era photograph from the Chicago & North Western Railroad, at My link page Fallen Flags.Org to the right of Your computer screen.

While this photo is only listed as "Chicago Illinois", I would associate this photo having been taken at sometime during the 1930's and 40's era.

The mid 1930's in America, would become known in railroad circles, as "The age of streamlining". Many railroad companies, as well as cross country Motorbus carriers and Automobile manufacturers...began modernizing their images with machines equipped with stylish rounded contours and aerodynamic streamlining.

Ad the era of streamlined diesel locomotives was in it's infant stages, many railroads including the Chicago & Northwestern, began applying streamlined shrouding to make their fast mainline passenger service steam locomotives look more modern.
