Northbound BNSF Railway light engine movement. Hawthorne Junction. Chicago / Cicero Illinois. February 2007.





For some odd reason or another, some of My "Best" lineside railfan photographs are taken in some pretty harsh conditions.

I photographed this beautiful Winter sunset at Hawthorne Junction one evening, back in February of 2007. Chicago was in a very serious deep freeze condition with daytime high temperatures just barely above zero degrees Farenheight.

I froze taking this one...but what the heck. It was worth it.
