I took this photo way back in October of 1983.

We are facing east along the south or eastbound track, at the Metra Stone Avenue station in west suburban La Grange Illinois.

With the help of an old matchbook with a Burlington Northern logo on it, I was able to have a little bit of creative railfan fun, by creating this unofficial "Low Budget" Burlington Northern company promotion.

With 1950's era EMD first generation hood unit locomotives that were proboubly acquired from the former Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad through merger in 1970, this westbound BN freight train passes through the Stone Avenue station on a lovely Autum day in October of 1983.
