I took this photograph, way back in January of 1988.

A northbound Burlington Northern Railroad transfer freight train complete with a BN wide vision caboose bringing up the rear, passes through the Illinois Central ex Gulf, Mobile & Ohio crosstracks at Brighton Junction.

Brighton Junction is located just northwest of the intersection of South Archer and Western Avenues, on an elevated embankment on private property. Back then, the railroad crews were actually pretty friendly and quiete tollerent of visiting responsible camera carrying railfans like myself.
