Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation compact Sterling garbage truck. Chicago Ilinois. November 2006.

I took this photograph back in November of 2006.

Seen here in downtown Chicago Illinois on an overcast November morning, is a tiny Sterling garbage truck from the City of Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation. This little economy sized garbage truck, is viewed performing curb side collection, or what is also known as a "Basket Run" in downtown Chicago.

These little trucks, are often refered to as "Peanut Trucks" by Chicago Streets and Sanitation crews for their small size. These trucks are often utilized for trash collection dutties, in Chicago's older neighborhoods with narrow alleys.
