The Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe Corwith Yard locomotive terminal. Chicago Illinois USA. March 1985.
I took this photo way back in March of 1985, on Chicago's near southwest side. Seen here at approximately West 41st Street, about four blocks east of South Pulaski Road, is the locomotive service facility on the northwest corner of Corwith Yard.
Hi Tom! I was actually on a dead end street that led to this location. Things were a little different then compared to now, as I once walked through part of Corwith Yard looking for work during the mid 1980's. I approached security, and they basically said to stay on the road that the trucks were using, be carefull, and leave when I was done.
Needless to say, I didn't find any work there, and I actually didn't have My camera with Me.
I didn't physically enter the Corwith engine terminal in the photo, but took photos from the dead end street. Nobody noticed Me or My high school friend Jeff there that day. We took our photos and then split.

Were you able to go into the yard without security hassling you, or did you get this shot from outside the property?

I am so glad I took them.
Thank You.
