The CTA Green Line rapid transit yard in Forest Park Illinois. March 17th, 1985.
I took this photo on a chartered fantrip that was sponsored by the Illinois Railway Museum. This chartered excursion train of 1950's era Chicago Transit Authority 6000 series and 5-50 series rapid transit cars, was named " The Snowflake Special". Our all day excursion visited all of the CTA rapid transit elevated and subway lines, except for the Skokie Swift. Here we are entering the CTA Forest Park yard, just west of the Harlem Avenue station at the neighboring border towns of west suburban Oak Park, and Forest Park Illinois.
